The Data Science and Machine Learning course will enable participants to implement the most widely used Machine Learning algorithms for a range of real-world data sets. We will use Pandas and scikit-learn, the popular Python Data Science packages. We will take a handful of real-world examples through all the steps from data preparation to applying algorithms and evaluating their performance. Datasets will include the Wisconsin breast cancer study, Seattle housing prices and several other standard example sets. Methods will include Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, Clustering and Nearest Neighbor algorithms, as well as how to structure an implementation to deal with common practical requirements and determine optimal solutions.
We will also cover advanced topics in the field, including cutting-edge advancements such as ML as a Service, Online Machine Learning, ML for Big Data and Open Source Software Technologies used to build ML/AI stack. Throughout we will focus on real world implementations and how to use these powerful tools to draw useful insights from often imperfect raw data.
